Snake Identification Update
Well, it appears that our snakes are Texas Rat Snakes (Elaphe obsoleta lindheimeri), though I haven't seen pictures of Texas Rat Snakes on the web that look just like ours. (We identified it through a book). Here is a good write-up on these snakes.
My little cabin in the woods is my sanctuary, where I enjoy watching the birds and other critters, and taking pictures. Note that I am not an expert photographer! ;-)
Earlier photos on this site were taken with a Fujifilm Finepix S5100 with 10x zoom and edited with Gimp.
Photos since January 2007 are taken with a Pentax K100D with a 70-300mm zoom lens and edited with Paintshop Pro XI Photo.
